Details
Inhibits metabolism of atorvastatin by P450 3A4. Result is increased atorvastatin concentrations which can elevate risk of muscle-related side effects.
Consider azithromycin as an alternative or you may also see it suggested to hold atorvastatin during course of clarithromycin therapy.
