Warning
In postmenopausal women with CHD or increased risk for
CHD, treatment reduces vertebral fractures and breast
cancer at the same absolute rate that it increases risk of
VTE and fatal strokes. (Although no increase in incidence
of stroke, if stroke does occur, there is increased
mortality.) Thus, the individual risk-benefit profile and
preference needs to be factored into therapy choice.
