Rosiglitazone (Avandia) increases the risk of myocardial infarction, but did not increase the risk of all-cause mortality or cardiovascular mortality over the average 3.5 years of study. Several groups recommend against the use of rosiglitazone, but it still had an annual sale of $1 billion last year. (LOE = 1a)
